Job Description
We run a busy plumbing company. Our website is supposed to be our best employee—working 24/7 to answer questions and book jobs. But right now, it’s more like a part-time intern that forgets to show up. Forms break, the blog hasn’t been touched in months, and we’re probably losing customers because of it.
We don’t need a tech genius; we need a reliable person who gets that our website is a tool for our business. You’ll be the one who makes sure it actually does its job.
Your main mission is to stop the website from being a headache. That means doing a check every Monday morning—clicking every contact form, testing the online booking tool, making sure nothing’s broken. When we finish a big job and get a great review, you’ll be the one to get that testimonial and photo up on the site.
The other big part is the blog. We know homeowners Google their plumbing problems. We’ll give you the topics (like “why is my faucet dripping?” or “how to winterize your pipes”), and you’ll write a clear, friendly article that actually helps someone, using words they’d actually search for. The goal isn’t to sound fancy; it’s to be helpful so Google sends them our way.
You’ve done this before. You’re comfortable in WordPress, you know which plugins are important for a service business, and you can explain a slightly technical topic in simple terms. You’re the type of person who sees a problem and just fixes it.
