Job Description
We're a DTC brand that runs heavy on paid social and need a video editor who lives in the world of Facebook and Instagram ads. Your job is creating thumb-stopping video ads that get people to click, add to cart, and buy—not just look pretty.
You'll produce 15-30 ad variations per week from raw footage, product clips, and customer testimonials. Each video needs to work on mobile, grab attention instantly, and drive direct response. You're testing hooks, angles, formats, and editing styles to find what lowers our cost per acquisition.
Day-to-Day Work
Edit product-focused ads using footage we provide—unboxings, lifestyle shots, product demos, customer reviews, influencer content. Every ad starts with a strong hook in the first 2 seconds because that's what determines if someone keeps watching. Add text overlays that highlight key selling points, benefits, urgency, and offers since most people watch with sound off.
Create multiple versions of each concept. Same core message but different hooks, different music, different pacing, different CTAs. One video becomes five variations for split testing. Format everything correctly for feed posts (1:1, 4:5) and stories/reels (9:16) with platform-specific editing that looks native, not like an obvious ad.
Work directly with our media buyer to understand what's performing. If an ad is crushing it, you'll make similar versions fast. If something's flopping, you'll pivot and try a different creative direction. Keep files organized so we can quickly access raw footage and previous winners when we need rapid turnarounds.
You Need
3+ years editing video ads specifically for Facebook and Instagram, ideally for DTC or e-commerce brands. Portfolio showing actual ads you've edited with performance context (CTR, engagement, conversions if possible). Deep understanding of direct response ad creative—what makes people stop scrolling and take action. Experience editing UGC-style content, product demos, and testimonial-driven ads. Comfort working in high volume with tight deadlines during campaign launches or tests. You understand the difference between brand content and performance creative.
