Job Description
We're an HVAC company taking our sales online through Shopify, and we need a developer who can take complete ownership of the store — not someone who needs a project manager to tell them what to do next.
Full ownership here means you're the one making technical decisions. You'll build and maintain the Shopify store, customize themes, handle integrations with third-party tools and APIs, ensure the site performs well across mobile and desktop, and keep everything running cleanly as the business grows. HVAC products have specific complexity — parts, compatibility, sizing, service bundles — and you'll need to think about how to structure the catalog and buying experience in a way that actually makes sense for customers purchasing online.
Strong Shopify and Liquid templating experience is required. You should be comfortable with JavaScript and HTML/CSS for front-end customization, know how to work with Shopify's API for custom functionality, and have experience configuring and integrating apps within the Shopify ecosystem. Experience with Shopify Plus is a plus, though not a hard requirement for this role.
We're not looking for someone to maintain what's already there — we're building this properly from the ground up. If you've taken a Shopify store from concept to a fully functioning e-commerce operation and owned the outcome end to end, that's exactly the experience we're after.
