Job Description
We run a direct-to-consumer brand on Shopify Plus with a growing product catalog and steady sales volume. The store has been built up by different contractors over the past few years, and the codebase reflects that — inconsistent code, undocumented customizations, and a theme that's increasingly painful to extend. Every new feature request means untangling something that was already there.
We're looking for a Shopify Developer to take real ownership of the storefront. That means understanding what's there, making decisions about what should change, and building new things properly — not just executing tickets and moving on. You'll work closely with our ops and marketing teams on an ongoing basis as the business grows and the store evolves.
What you'll work on
- Building new theme sections, templates, and custom components from design specs through to production
- Integrating third-party apps and custom APIs into the storefront — reviews, subscriptions, loyalty, shipping tools
- Shopify Plus-specific development: checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, and Flow automations
- Page speed and performance optimization — Core Web Vitals, image handling, lazy loading
- Refactoring and documenting parts of the existing codebase that are causing ongoing friction
What we're looking for
- Strong command of Liquid, JavaScript, and CSS — you build in code, not with page builders
- Real Shopify Plus experience including checkout customization and Shopify Functions — this is a hard requirement
- Demonstrable experience integrating third-party services via Shopify APIs and webhooks
- A portfolio of Shopify work with live store examples or detailed case studies — required with your application
- Asia timezone — you'll operate with structured async handoffs to the US-based team
- Clear written English for documentation and async communication
