Job Description

A B2B software company with a domain that has real authority — 6 years old, thousands of backlinks, and a content library built up over time. Organic traffic peaked 14 months ago and has been declining since, partly due to algorithm changes and partly due to neglect. SEO has been split between a content person and whoever last touched the site. Nobody has owned it as a dedicated function.

The SEO Manager will take full ownership of the channel — technical health, content strategy, and the link equity that's been built but isn't being fully leveraged.

What you'll own

  • Technical SEO — crawl health, Core Web Vitals, indexation, schema markup, site architecture, and canonicalization, working with the dev team on fixes
  • Keyword research and content gap analysis — identifying where the site should be ranking but isn't, and building a prioritized plan to close those gaps
  • Content strategy — briefing topics based on search intent and business value, working with the content team on production and optimization
  • Link building — identifying opportunities, managing outreach, and growing domain authority through quality acquisition
  • Reporting — weekly rankings movement, organic traffic trends, and content performance tracked in Semrush and GA4

Requirements

  • 4+ years of SEO with demonstrable results — specific traffic growth or ranking improvements you can speak to
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge — able to identify and diagnose site issues without relying on a developer for everything
  • Proficient in Semrush or Ahrefs for research, auditing, and competitive analysis
  • B2B or SaaS SEO experience is a strong advantage
