Multi-Specialty Medical Billing Specialist

Position Overview
This role supports a multi-specialty medical practice providing services across primary care, cardiology, orthopedics, and internal medicine. You will manage the complete revenue cycle for diverse medical services, ensuring accurate claim submission and timely reimbursement.
Claim Processing Workflow
- Review and verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility
- Assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes for multiple specialties
- Submit claims to commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Monitor claim status through payer portals and EMR systems
- Process electronic remittance advice (ERA) and explanation of benefits (EOB)
Revenue Cycle Management
- Follow up on denied or pending claims with insurance companies
- Submit appeals and corrected claims with proper documentation
- Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts
- Generate patient statements for outstanding balances
- Maintain aging reports and track accounts receivable
Specialty-Specific Considerations
Different specialties require specific billing knowledge:
- Primary Care: Preventive care codes, annual wellness visits
- Cardiology: Stress tests, echocardiograms, Holter monitoring
