Medical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to support a healthcare team focused on maintaining accurate patient records and compliant billing practices. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that clinical information is properly translated into standardized codes, helping streamline reimbursement and maintain regulatory compliance.

You’ll spend your time reviewing medical documentation such as patient charts, physician notes, and lab reports, converting that information into the appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Accuracy is key, as your work directly impacts billing, reporting, and overall data integrity.

Part of the role involves verifying that all documentation is complete and aligns with coding requirements before submission. When discrepancies arise, you’ll work closely with billing teams to resolve issues efficiently and prevent delays. You may also need to communicate with healthcare providers to clarify missing or unclear details in patient records.

In addition to coding, you’ll contribute to internal reporting by tracking coding accuracy, identifying patterns, and helping ensure ongoing compliance with healthcare regulations.

We’re looking for someone with certification in medical coding and hands-on experience in a hospital or clinical setting. A strong understanding of coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) is essential, along with familiarity using electronic health record systems.
