Job Description
We have a native iOS app that's been live for two years with a loyal user base and strong retention. The core product works well, but the codebase has accumulated technical debt from moving fast, and feature development has slowed down as a result. We also have a backlog of user-requested improvements that keeps growing.
We're looking for an iOS Developer who can get up to speed on the codebase quickly and start shipping — new features, performance improvements, and the cleanup work that's been building up. You'll work directly with the product and design teams and have real input on how features are architected and built.
What you'll work on
- Building new features from design spec through to App Store release — SwiftUI and UIKit depending on the component
- Refactoring legacy code in the areas causing the most friction, with a focus on maintainability over wholesale rewrites
- Integrating and maintaining third-party SDKs and internal APIs — authentication, analytics, push notifications, and in-app purchases
- Working with Firebase for real-time data, remote config, and crash reporting
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to architecture decisions on new features
- Monitoring crash logs and performance metrics and resolving issues before they affect users at scale
Requirements
- 3+ years of native iOS development in Swift with production apps on the App Store — app names or links required with your application
- Strong command of SwiftUI and UIKit — ability to work in both depending on what the codebase requires
- Solid understanding of iOS architecture patterns — MVVM, clean architecture, or similar
- Firebase integration experience across authentication, Firestore, and crash analytics
- US timezone required for daily collaboration with product and design
