Job Description

If you've written a grant proposal that got funded — not submitted, funded — we want to hear from you.

We're a nonprofit looking for someone who can handle both sides of this work: research and writing. That means identifying opportunities that are actually a fit for our mission (not just anything with available funding), writing proposals that make a clear case for support, tracking submission deadlines and reporting requirements, and building the kind of funder relationships that lead to renewals.

Most grant writers are good at one or the other. Researchers who write bland proposals. Writers who apply to everything without strategic filtering. We need someone who does both well — which is rare, and worth paying for when you find it.

The work is primarily async and the timezone is flexible, though occasional calls will be required before major submissions.

What we're looking for:

  • A portfolio of funded grant proposals — federal, foundation, or corporate, any combination
  • Experience with grant research tools — Candid/Foundation Directory, ——, or similar
  • Strong long-form writing ability — grant writing is argument and evidence, not marketing copy
  • Ability to translate program outcomes into compelling funder-facing language
  • Fluent English — this is a writing role and the quality of the prose is the product
