Job Description
Our infrastructure has grown without a dedicated DevOps function and it's starting to cause real problems — deployments are manual in several places, environments are inconsistent between dev and production, and the engineering team spends too much time firefighting infrastructure issues instead of shipping product. We need a DevOps Engineer who can assess what we have, build a proper foundation, and keep it running as we scale.
You'll work closely with the engineering team to automate deployments, stabilize environments, improve observability, and ensure the infrastructure can support the growth we're planning for over the next 12 months.
What you'll own
- Auditing the current infrastructure — identifying gaps, risks, and quick wins — and delivering a clear remediation plan within the first two weeks
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that give the engineering team fast, reliable, automated deployments
- Managing cloud infrastructure on AWS — EC2, S3, Lambda, and related services — with proper separation between dev, staging, and production environments
- Infrastructure as code using Terraform — everything version-controlled, no manual console changes
- Monitoring and alerting — setting up observability so the team knows about problems before customers do
- Security and access control — reviewing current permissions, implementing least-privilege access, and ensuring credentials are properly managed
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience — GitHub profile, live infrastructure work, or detailed case studies required to be considered
- Strong AWS experience across compute, storage, networking, and serverless services
- Production-level Terraform usage — not just awareness, actual infrastructure built and maintained with it
- Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
- GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline automation
- US timezone required for overlap with the engineering team
