We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining the data architecture behind our Looker BI environment.
In this role, you'll build robust data pipelines, create analytics-ready data models, and ensure high-quality datasets that enable accurate reporting and business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain BigQuery datamarts and analytical tables used for BI reporting.
- Develop scalable data models using star schema, snowflake schema, or denormalized structures optimized for analytical workloads.
- Optimize query performance and storage efficiency within cloud data warehouses.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams to ensure datasets support Looker semantic models and dashboards.
Data Pipeline & Transformation
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and loading into analytics environments.
- Develop transformation workflows using SQL and frameworks such as dbt.
- Ensure data quality, validation, consistency, and reliability across all datasets.
- Monitor pipeline performance and resolve data processing issues proactively.
Data Governance & Performance
- Maintain data standards, naming conventions, and documentation for analytics datasets.
- Implement best practices for schema management, version control, and data governance.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve pipeline failures and data inconsistencies.
- Continuously improve the scalability and performance of the analytics platform.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Intelligence specialists to deliver optimized datasets for reporting.
- Ensure data structures align with semantic layer requirements and minimize complex transformations within BI tools.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer.
- Strong expertise in SQL for analytical and reporting workloads.

Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses such as:
- Google BigQuery
- Amazon Redshift
- Snowflake
- or similar platforms.
- Experience designing star schema, dimensional models, or other analytics-focused data models.
- Proven experience building and maintaining analytics-ready datamarts.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data transformation best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using dbt (Data Build Tool) or other modern data transformation frameworks.
- Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.

Familiarity with Business Intelligence platforms such as:
- Looker
- Tableau
- Power BI
- Experience supporting retail, e-commerce, or multi-location business datasets.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
