Job Description

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to help drive outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and pipeline development within the B2B software space.

This role combines research, cold outreach, CRM management, and sales support. You'll work closely with the sales team to identify target organizations, engage key decision-makers, and ensure opportunities are properly qualified before entering the sales process.

Success in this position requires strong research skills, confidence with phone-based outreach, excellent written communication, and the ability to keep CRM data accurate and actionable.

About the Role

You'll spend a significant portion of your time identifying prospective companies, researching decision-makers, and gathering information that helps sales conversations become more relevant and effective.

Rather than focusing on volume alone, you'll be expected to prioritize quality research and thoughtful outreach that supports long-term relationship building.

Your work will directly influence pipeline growth by helping the sales team engage the right contacts at the right organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect Research & Market Intelligence

Research companies using websites, professional networks, industry publications, and other sources to determine fit, services offered, decision-making structure, and business priorities.

Gather information that helps sales teams better understand each prospect, including leadership roles, service offerings, partnerships, recent business activity, and growth initiatives.

Contact Identification & CRM Management

Identify relevant decision-makers and maintain accurate records within the CRM.

Responsibilities include:

  • Researching and validating key contacts
  • Updating company and prospect records
  • Maintaining CRM hygiene and data accuracy
  • Managing imports, tags, notes, and prospect segmentation
  • Ensuring sales teams have reliable information for outreach

Outbound Outreach & Lead Qualification

Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, email campaigns, voicemail outreach, and follow-up activities.

You'll help:

  • Qualify potential opportunities
  • Gather missing information
  • Schedule conversations for sales representatives
  • Support webinar invitations and campaign follow-ups
  • Create personalized outreach messages based on prospect type and role
