Job Description

An Australian company is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations, with a strong focus on accounts payable and receivable. This is a remote role with consistent weekly hours.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing accounts payable — processing supplier invoices, scheduling payments, tracking due dates
  • Managing accounts receivable — issuing invoices, tracking payments, following up on overdue accounts
  • Recording and categorizing daily transactions in QuickBooks
  • Reconciling bank and credit card accounts monthly
  • Preparing BAS (Business Activity Statement) and assisting with GST reporting
  • Processing payroll entries and superannuation tracking
  • Generating monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Maintaining organized, audit-ready financial records
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Liaising with the company's accountant or tax agent as needed
  • Flagging discrepancies, overdue accounts, or irregularities for review

What We're Looking For

  • Proven bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks (Online preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting practices, including GST and BAS requirements
  • Solid experience specifically in AP/AR management
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with financial data
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting recurring deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal English communication
  • Experience working with Australian businesses or clients is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets and other accounting tools (e.g., Xero, ——) is a plus
