Android Developer (Kotlin)

A consumer app with 500,000+ downloads and a growing active user base, built natively in Kotlin for Android. Strong retention, consistent feature requests from users, and a development team that ships on a bi-weekly cadence. We need an Android Developer who can take ownership of feature development end to end — not just pick up tickets — and contribute to the quality of what's already live.

1. Build new product features in Kotlin from design specs to production-ready code, working within the existing architecture
2. Maintain and improve the codebase — reducing technical debt, improving test coverage, and refactoring where the current implementation is causing friction
3. Implement UI components using Jetpack Compose that match design specs precisely and perform smoothly across a wide range of Android devices
4. Integrate backend APIs, third-party SDKs, and Firebase services — authentication, analytics, push notifications, and remote config
5. Monitor crash reports and ANR data in the Play Console and resolve issues before they affect ratings or user retention
6. Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture decisions as the feature set grows

Requirements

• 3+ years of native Android development in Kotlin — apps live on Google Play required, links or app names included in your application
• Jetpack Compose experience in a production codebase
• Strong grasp of Android architecture — MVVM, clean architecture, and coroutines
• Firebase integration experience across authentication, Firestore, and analytics
• Asia timezone for overlap with the product and design teams
• Fluent English
