Job Description
Cosmetics brand wanting to build presence on Reddit where beauty communities are active and engaged. The challenge is Reddit hates obvious marketing, so we need someone who can engage authentically in skincare and makeup subreddits without getting banned or called out as spam.
Community engagement strategy
Identify relevant subreddits where our target customers hang out discussing skincare, makeup, and beauty routines. Participate genuinely in conversations answering questions and sharing knowledge without immediately pushing products. Build karma and credibility establishing account as trusted community member before any promotional activity. Share our products naturally when relevant to discussions people are already having. Monitor brand mentions responding to questions or concerns when people talk about us. Create valuable content like routine breakdowns or ingredient guides that happen to feature our products. Handle negative comments or criticism professionally without getting defensive. Track which subreddits and post types drive traffic and interest in our brand.
Reddit experience required
Deep understanding of Reddit culture knowing how to engage without triggering spam detection or community backlash. Experience building presence in beauty, skincare, or makeup subreddits specifically. Knowledge of subreddit rules and what gets posts removed or accounts banned. Strong writing skills creating comments and posts that sound authentic not like marketing copy. Comfortable working part-time monitoring and engaging in communities consistently. Patient building credibility over time rather than expecting immediate promotional wins. Thick skin handling negative feedback or criticism that comes with any brand presence. Understanding of beauty products and skincare able to discuss ingredients and routines knowledgeably.
